"Jools Parker's Bluesy Folk Rock is refreshingly peppered with rich, tonal vocal harmonies and pop hooks" (Internet review) Jools began performing with Blues and R&B bands, touring in Germany & France, before returning to the North of England. She began to feel that there was more to say and to explore musically; a more creative side without the confines of "covered" material. |

She began to write her own songs, producing a shrewd, original and infectious blend of R&B, Blues and Country Rock.
Jools' rhythmic, suggestive guitar is perfectly attuned to her powerful, emotive vocals.
"Songs," she says, "are all about atmosphere." She admires the way the older, revered Blues performers could spellbind an audience with a voice, a guitar & an emotion."
I write about what I observe, about the relationships that go on around me.
I don't write autobiographically but I suppose odd clues about me must creep into my work.
Human emotion & motivation; what we say and what we leave unsaid, facinate me; but one single song is not the venue for everything you've ever observed."

"Audiences need to feel involved, it needs to be real."
Jools writes for vocals and guitar to begin with but says that the songs seem to
"orchestrate themselves as they grow. They move on and assume their own momentum."
She loves the way harmony can change a texture or lift a line.
" I want to create something with meaning & something that lasts, mostly for me; but there's nothing like other people "getting" your songs. Nothing like the feeling of hearing other people humming a tune you wrote or singing your words". |
